Juvenile Notes

Our U14 footballers were defeated in the County Championship final by Newcastlewest who were the better team on the night. We went into an early lead with goals from Mark O’Dwyer and Cian Hession but NCW came back strongly and were too powerful for our team, a number of whom had turned out for a schools match earlier in the day. It was a sad end to the season for a great bunch of players who fought all the way to the end. Squad: Sean Fitzpatrick, Conor Nelson, Eoghan Whittle, Daniel Enright, Darren Golden, Niall O’Shea, Eoghan Carew, Conor Fleming, Daniel Power, Alan Nicholas, Oisin Kelly, Evan O’Connor, Mark O’Dwyer, Kevin Gleeson, Cian Hession, Pat Humphries, Donal Dooley, Jamie Power, Darren Coughlan, Bryan Tiernan, Cathal Carew.

Under 9 hurling training has moved to UL for the rest of this year. It is on in the new pitches their between 7-8pm every Friday night

On Sunday the 6th Nov we travelled to cork to Cork to support the senior footballers and get some matches for our boys for the end of season. We were hosted by St Michael’s GAA club and played four matches at four different age groups. The u 10 footballers were excellent throughout, showing lovely skills and taking some nice scores. Our u11 and u12 had one loss and a win and both games were of a very good standard. Our u13 footballers struggled throughout their game but were well short of a full team, yet they displayed some great defensive moves and began to gain more control of the game as time pushed on. From there we went on to support our senior footballers who did us proud with a magnificient display of football. So much to be proud of –well done big and small, we have a bright future to look forward to.

Monaleen Underage Gaa Club would like to thank all their Generous Supporters
