U14 Football Feile Final

Unfortunately our U14 footballers lost the Feile final to Newcastlewest by 1 goal in a very hard fought game. A great achievement by the team to reach their third successive final in this competition. Many of the team are underage again next year and we look forward to many more tournaments this year.

Under 14 Feile Camogie

The under 14 team have had a busy start to the season and this was the first year Monaleen entered the Camogie Feile. They travelled to Ballyagran on Sun 10th, to play a series of matches with tournament favourites Ballyagran and Na Piarsaigh. In the first match Ballyagran went down by a point against Na Piarsaigh. This was followed by a closely fought match between Monaleen and Ballyagran. Ballyagran got an early lead which Monaleen were able to claw back before Ballyagran won out eventual winners 3-3 to 1-2. In the last match Monaleen faced Na Piarsaigh. Both teams put on a great display. Goals from Laura Griffin and Caoimhe Lyons secured a great victory and Monaleen were only narrowly edged out of qualifying for the next final stages of the competition. The team was Aine Doyle, Niamh Holmes, Nicole Sheahan, Shalini Kujur, Cliodhna McCarthy.

Under 14 League Camogie

Bruff 3-2 Monaleen 5-3. Following a great performance in the Feile on Sunday, the girls were back in action again on Tuesday in Bruff and secured an emphatic win in fine style. Helped by great performances in every position and Ciara Wiley who managed to find the net 4 times. Caoimhe Lyons and Laura Griffin got the other scores. This week we are at home to Ballybrown.

Under 12 League Camogie

Monaleen 2-1 Mungret St Pauls 0-0. The U12s started their league campaign with a good win against a very determined Mungret St Pauls side. Taine Amodeo and Shalini Kujur were dominant throughout the game and excellent work in defense by Rachel Hinchy, Anna Bourke, Annie Russell and Claire Kelly kept the clean sheet. In the second half fine performances also by Katie Golden, Keelan Corcoran, with Aine Nelligan Emma Donohue and Susan Fullen in attack, before Aine Doyle made the breakthrough and scored a second goal and a fine point near the end. A great performance by all the girls, the full team was Claire Kelly, Shalini Kujur, Aine Nelligan, Emma Donohue, Anna Clancy, Laura Hogan, Aoife O Driscoll, Susan Fullen, Aine Doyle, Taine Amodeo, Rachel Hinchy, Annie Russell, Anna Bourke, Keelan Corcoran, Laura Hession.
