Lead by captain Laura Phelan they got off to a great start with Caoimhe Lyons scoring two points into a stiff breeze, and Claire Kelly getting a goal before half-time. In the second half Bruff came out fighting but great defending by Monaleen and in particular Emear Nelson at full back and Aisling Kennedy in goals kept them out. The U16s had a great win at home over Galbally to ensure a place in the county final. Winning by 3 points at half time having been the stronger side it looked good for the Monaleen girls. The lead was stretched to 6 for much of the second half but Galbally kept in touch and finished strongly with Monaleen holding out for victory. Good luck to the girls in the final which takes place on Friday 23rd. (Venue TBC)

U12 Boys Football
The U12 footballers took to the field again in their respective venues. Both teams performed well in their matches with a win and a draw this time around. In group one we had a draw against Kilmallock in a strongly contested game with some great exchanges of play despite being short some players to injury. The game finished 2.3 to 1.6 . In group two we played against Hospital/Herbertstown at home and we dominated the game for a great part of the encounter . We won the match having rested a number of stronger players in the second half, finising 3.4 to 3.1 in the end.

U10 Camogie Blitz in BallinaThe u10 girls travelled to Ballina on a very wet Saturday for a Blitz against some of the best teams in Tipperary. After some great camogie from all 22 girls Monaleen were pitted against the home team in the C final. On a very mucky surface scores were in short supply. Half time and the match was scoreless. A great performance from the Monaleen girls in the second period capped by 4 goals from Aoife Doyle and one from Lucy Darcy won the day. 5 nil to Monaleen and some very wet but happy girls heading home.
