Monaleen started the quicker of the two and raced to an early lead, goals from Darren Coughlan and Niall Loughran saw the home team lead 2-4,0-1 at half time. The game was always very competitive and Newcastle West to their credit never stopped trying, Monaleen fought hard to hold the early lead, a fine display by Eoin Carew and Darren Golden and overall a great display by the home team was enough on the night.
